Background Play

After watching an old video of Dean Collins speaking at Brooks I of P from 1991, I decided to recreate my own version of his background work.

The key concept for me was: Once you get the background about 4 stops under your shooting aperture, it doesn't take much to paint it whatever color you like, and not interfere with the way you light your subject.

While I would have preferred a little more reflector fill on her left, I learned quickly that moving my scrim scared her away. And there's just no convincing this kitten to do anything she doesn't want to do. (Typical chick.)

Ah, the mighty "Aphrodite"...lol. Um, I don't have a tripod, remember? I do, however, remember that I found a tripod dolly here recently. Funny, huh?

I'll try the slower setting and the AV...and the remote switch. And I can't wait to have my yard sale so you can come over and help me set up my studio. You, Steph, Mark and I can play cards. What do you think?

Much, much love to the icing on my cupcake!
